Writing is something we are always working on. We focus on using a process to accomplish our writing. For example we start with a brainstorm, then create an outline, which leads to a rough draft. The rough draft gets peer edited and from that we create our final draft. If you are looking at your own writing make sure you create at least five paragraphs for each paper, an opening paragraph, three body paragraphs and finally a closing paragraph. Within each paragraph you should have good description using different adjectives and verbs. Make sure to vary your sentence structure by using a mix of different types of sentences like exclamatory and declarative. Also try and include at least one compound sentence in each paragraph. Making sure you have all these things will help you become a better writer.
Formatting your paper
When working on a paper Mr. Lamb stresses the use of MLA or APA formatting. Some teachers in the past may have had students double space between paragraphs or some other method. I want to get my students as prepared as much as possible for more strenuous writing therefore, when we create papers we format it according to MLA or APA rules. That said we use those "rules" as guidelines as we help each student grow and learn.
